Spinach Salad with warm bacon dressing

There are multiple ways to make spinach salad depending on your likes and dislikes. Besides the obvious choice of using spinach leaf and some sort of dressing you can add many different ingredients besides the 2 most popular which is chopped bacon and hard boiled eggs. Same goes for the dressings as there are versions that are more sweet because they are honey and brown sugar based while others have more of a sour , vinegary flavor. Because of all the different ingredient and dressing options available , I will be posting some of other versions at a later time. In this case we will just be focusing on the type of dressing used which is bacon based so this is going to obviously be non-vegetarian.


3 large strips of bacon

3 Tbsp of minced garlic

3 Tbsp honey

3 Tbsp grainy dijon mustard

1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar

1 tsp coarse black pepper

1 tsp salt

1 Tbsp brown sugar


1: Chop the bacon into small pieces and cook over medium high heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon to a plate covered with a paper towel to absorb the extra fat.

2: Add the garlic to the pan with the bacon drippings and cook for 30 seconds. Then add tall the remianing ingredients. Bring to a boil and let cook for 1 minute then add the bacon.

3: Serve immediately while hot or if you decide to store it, make sure it is in a heat-proof glass jar. Because you will need to reheat and stir the dressing before serving. This dressing will be good for 1 week.
