Slow cooked Turkey Chili
One of my favorites, this is something that we like to make at home when we know that we are going to be running around and won't have the time or energy to cook when we get back home. It is also something easy to make and perfect for parties . You can obviously substitute beef for the turkey but either way its a great meal anytime. Especially over a bowl of chips or rice. This recipe serves 6-8.
Ingredients
1 lb of lean ground turkey
1/2 cup of taco seasoning ( mild or hot)
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp chili pepper flakes
1 large can of tomato sauce
1 large chopped bell pepper (green)
1 medium chopped yellow onion
3 medium zucchini sliced
sour cream
salsa
shredded cheese (whichever you prefer)
Directions
1: Place the uncooked ground turkey in the bottom of the crockpot and sprinkle with taco seasoning, oregano and the chili flakes.
2: Next add the can of tomato sauce, bell pepper, onion and zucchini and mix them all together. Set on low and cook for 6-8 hours.
3: When finished either serve on chips or rice. Add sour cream, salsa and cheese to taste.
