Quick and Simple Vanilla Ice Cream using milk

Sorry for the long time from between the last post and this one. Birthday parties are fun but not good for the waistline. Not sure if I want to see a cake in the near future. However, in keeping with that theme, we decided to post a quick and easy recipe for making your own ice cream. Now normally you would use heavy cream but you can also just use milk if you are looking to lower your fat content of the ice cream. This recipe also utilizes an ice cream machine. If you do not have one , you can also use the same

2 cups of 2% milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions with Ice cream machine

1: Combine all ingredients into a bowl and stir with a whisk until sugar is dissolved.

2: Pour into an ice cream machine and process until mixture thickens.

3: Pour into a bowl and freeze for at least 4 hrs. You can improve consistency by stirring the ingredients once every 2 hrs until they are frozen. Then serve.

Directions without Ice cream machine

1: Combine all ingredients into a bowl and stir with a whisk until sugar is dissolved

2: Transfer your mixture into a freezer safe pan and place in the freezer for about 1 hr.

3: Check the pan. Once the edges start to freeze, take out the mixture and stir it. You will want to do this for at least 2 or 3 times until the mixture is frozen.

4: Serve.

This recipe serves 4 but you can increase the amount depending on how many persons you plan to serve. Feel free to add ingredients like chocolate chips or nuts if you wish as I know that when having ice cream sometimes you need more than just vanilla. I prefer chocolate sauce on my ice cream as you see below. Thank you again for visiting my site and let me know what you think by your comments.
