Grandma's Blender Hollandaise Sauce

This is a recipe that was given to me by my grandmother to make hollandaise sauce which I use a lot for special occasions such as to make eggs benedict as morning breakfast for visiting family or to put on asparagus for a special meal for dinner, Here is how she made her blender hollandaise.


3 egg yolks

2 Tbl lemon juice

1/2 Tsp Dijon mustard

dash of Cayenne pepper

1/2 cup of butter pr margarine.


1:Remove egg yolks from egg and place them along with lemon juice, mustard and cayenne pepper in blender jar. Blend at a low speed till mixed.

2: Take the butter or margarine and melt it in a saucepan till it is bubbly but not brown. Take the pan off of the stove. Next turn the blender back on to a low speed and slowly pour about 1/3 of the butter/margarine through the opening in the blender cover. Next increase the speed of the blender to high and then slowly pour the remainder of the butter/margarine into the blender.

3: Blend until smooth and thick. When finished you should have about 1 cup of sauce.
